What’s it all about?

The multimedia music theatre work ADVERT was premiered during Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK) in Nov ’23 by composer Laura Bowler joined by Decoder Ensemble, a group of electronic and acoustic instrumentalists specialising in contemporary music.

This work draws focus on our desires to self advertise in order to ensure our position in our chosen tribes both in virtual and real life. It delves into the complexities of the multidimensional self within an increasingly tribalistic society.

Julia has tattooed the first part of Laura´s tattoo in a 4-5 hours session in her studio CHPT2 in Leipzig with the intention to continue the process during the performances on stage at various Music Festivals such as HCMF UK (Nov. 23), New Music Dublin (25th of April) and upcoming shows at Time In Music (Finland), July 2024 and Ultima (Norway) in September 2024
